Armasight recently announced a slate of new products for 2025, and headlining their new offerings is the Commander 640 Thermal Weapon Sight. The Commander 640 is a thermal optic built for durability, clarity and performance in all types of challenging conditions and is expected to hit store shelves in April 2025.

Performance and Build

The Commander 640 features Armasight’s ArmaCORE 640×480 12-micron thermal sensor, providing a sharp image and a fast 60Hz refresh rate. A 35mm germanium lens delivers high-contrast imaging with a detection range of up to 1,300 meters. Designed for use in complete darkness, fog, smoke and other hard-to-see-in environments, the unit is rated IP67 for water and dust resistance and housed in durable aluminum alloy.

The Commander is built to handle recoil from large-caliber rifles, all the way up to a .50 BMG, and is also compatible with rimfire and airgun platforms. Its compact design makes it suited for medium- to short-range applications where thermal imaging is required.
