If you thought Big Gun Control’s howling over America’s newest FBI Director Kash Patel was shrill, just wait until they wake up to news that Donald Trump plans to appointed Patel the acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, Explosives and really big Fires.  That’s right: sources say Trump plans to “reshuffle” federal law enforcement.  And placing Patel at BATF will help reform that agency away from persecuting gun owners and bring them back to prosecuting legitimate criminals.

Already Team Trump has dumped BATF’s lawyer Pamela Hicks under the Biden regime and she had plenty of folks who complained of her penchant to target law-abiding gun owners.  Now she’s free to take a job with one of the lobbying firms in DC.  It probably won’t be for the big gun control outfits though, given that the USAID gravy train has been curtailed.

Town Hall has the latest:

Just hours after being sworn in as the new FBI Director, sources say Kash Patel has been appointed as the acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). This move comes as part of a broader reshuffling within federal law enforcement, with Patel expected to bring his strong background in counterterrorism and national security to his new role. With the ATF’s growing focus on combatting violent crime and illegal firearms trafficking, Patel’s leadership is anticipated to be pivotal in shaping the agency’s future direction.

According to several sources, President Donald Trump is expected to name Patel as the acting director of the ATF. He would replace Marvin Richardson, the agency’s current acting director.

On Thursday, Attorney General Pam Bondi dismissed the ATF general counsel, Pamela Hicks. She had served as chief counsel since 2021 under the Biden administration and as deputy chief counsel for ATF during Trump’s first administration. Bondi accused the current leadership at the ATF of targeting law-abiding gun owners.

The ATF is responsible for regulating firearm sales and registrations among Americans. The agency has long faced Republican criticism for what they view as government overreach on Second Amendment rights. Bondi directed the ATF to reallocate resources from alcohol and tobacco enforcement to support the DOJ’s efforts against illegal immigration and transnational criminal organizations.

This certainly sounds like good news.  Patel knows what it’s like to be targeted by federal alphabet agencies for political reasons.  He’s already cleaning house at the FBI headquarters, sending over a thousand desk-riding agents at headquarters out into America.  No doubt any of those agents who participated in Biden’s lawfare stunts should probably freshen up their resume because their time at the Bureau is probably limited.  Hopefully the same will go for BATF agents pulling stunts like throwing a man in prison over a fake suppressor.

But at least they didn’t shoot him dead.
