Kitsap County Adopts Shadow Systems DR920 Duty Pistol

Featured in:

In a move that continues a growing trend among law enforcement agencies, the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office in Washington State has officially adopted the Shadow Systems DR920 as its new standard-issue sidearm.

Following a thorough evaluation process, Kitsap County deputies will now carry the full-size DR920, citing its exceptional reliability, controllability, and ergonomics as standout features.

The adoption underscores Shadow Systems’ continued push into the law enforcement market, offering a duty-grade pistol that blends Glock-compatible familiarity with upgraded performance.

“We are honored to support the brave men and women of the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office with a duty pistol they can rely on,” said Brandon Roper, CRO of Shadow Systems. “Our mission has always been to provide superior firearms tailored for professionals who face life-threatening situations every day.”

Designed for Duty, Built for Speed

The Shadow Systems DR920 isn’t your run-of-the-mill duty gun. Engineered with direct input from law enforcement and military professionals, the DR920 was built to outperform legacy sidearms—without forcing departments to overhaul existing support gear.

The pistol is compatible with G17 holsters, magazines, and accessories, easing the transition for officers already familiar with Glock platforms.

So what’s different?

Key Features of the DR920:

  • Customizable Ergonomics: Interchangeable backstraps allow shooters to dial in their natural point of aim.
  • Enhanced Recoil Control: An extended beavertail and undercut trigger guard promote a high grip and fast follow-up shots.
  • Textured Frame: Aggressive, wrap-around grip texture offers a secure hold without punishing the hand during long shifts.
  • Duty-Ready Slide: Directional serrations—front, rear, and sometimes top—allow confident manipulation under stress.
  • Match-Grade Barrel: Spiral-fluted, conventionally rifled, and available threaded or unthreaded.
  • Optics-Ready: The optic cut accepts most major red dot sights directly—no adapter plates needed.
  • Trigger Upgrade: A flat-faced, drop-safe aluminum trigger breaks cleanly at 4.5–5.0 pounds with a short reset.

Trusted by More Agencies Across the U.S.

With Kitsap County joining the ranks, Shadow Systems continues to carve out a name for itself as a legitimate alternative to more established duty gun manufacturers.

Law enforcement agencies have begun to recognize the value of a high-performance, American-made pistol that works seamlessly with existing duty gear.

And while the DR920 is purpose-built for professionals, it’s also increasingly popular among competitive shooters and concealed carriers who want a full-size pistol with upgraded features out of the box.
