Black Collar Arms Texas Typewriter: Modular 10/22 Rifle

Featured in:

Black Collar Arms releases a new monolithic .22LR system built around 10/22 compatibility and maximum user customization.

Black Collar Arms has announced the Texas Typewriter, a semi-automatic .22LR platform designed around a single-piece receiver and broad parts compatibility. The system will be offered as a complete firearm or as a builder’s kit in rifle, SBR, or pistol form.

Instead of the traditional Ruger 10/22 split between a receiver and stock, the Typewriter uses a rigid monolithic receiver that accepts both the forend and rear stock directly. The company says this design reduces weight, increases strength, and provides a slimmer overall profile.

The platform maintains compatibility with Ruger 10/22 bolts, triggers, barrels, and magazines. That gives shooters access to the established 10/22 aftermarket while incorporating the structural benefits of Black Collar’s modern receiver layout.

Stock options are modular as well. Rear interfaces include Picatinny, AR-style buffer tube, AK47 pattern, and 870 shotgun mounts, allowing shooters to run a wide range of common stocks and braces depending on configuration.

Black Collar Arms released a video overview of the system and confirmed a full launch date of November 24, 2025.
