A Brand-New Lightweight and Affordable .22LR Rifle

Featured in:

TriStar Arms has just introduced its latest entry into the rimfire world with the KR22, a lightweight and ergonomic .22 LR rifle designed for shooters looking to maximize versatility and value.

With a focus on comfort, reliability, and practical features, the KR22 offers a wealth of benefits for both new shooters and seasoned enthusiasts interested in target practice, small game hunting, or rimfire training.

Weighing in at just about 4.9 pounds and built around an 18.6-inch threaded barrel, the KR22 checks the boxes for maneuverability and suppressor compatibility right out of the gate.

The semi-automatic blowback action ensures dependable cycling, while features like a reversible bolt handle and adjustable comb mean the rifle can adapt to a variety of shooters and shooting styles—left- or right-handed, and anyone particular about their cheek weld – a great option for a family that has children or youngsters also interested in shooting.

Two included 10-round rotary magazines, combined with standard compatibility for 10/22 magazines, make the KR22 range-ready from the start and should make it a fun plinking rig, provided it’s reliable with affordable ammo.

There are some slightly more premium features, including fiber-optic adjustable sights, a full-length integrated Picatinny rail for optics, and multiple sling mounting points, that round out the rifle for those who want to carry it afield.

Safety considerations are handled by a dual-system approach: a push-button safety blocks the trigger, while an inner trigger safety must be engaged during firing.

KR22 .22LR Rifle – Launch Price: ~$289 MSRP

The new rimfire rifle features an 18.6″ barrel and 38″ overall length, which should be great for most shooters looking for a simple, yet effective pest control rifle that’s capable of mounting optics, slings, and even suppressors.

According to TriStar Arms, the KR22 was built on the same principles of value and reliability that have defined the brand’s shotgun and handgun lines. This launch marks the company’s first step into the rifle category, broadening their reach in response to what shooters are looking for—a dependable semi-auto .22 that can handle everything from plinking and skill building to field use.

The KR22 is now available through authorized TriStar dealers. For more details, visit the TriStar Arms website. Hopefully, we’ll be able to get a review sample over here at TTAG to see where the wheels might or might not come off for this newest offering in the rimfire category.
