One announcement that all of us knew was coming to SHOT Show 2026 is the official debut of the Glock Gen6 handguns with new models of the G19, G17, and G45 having been revealed last month. These pistols took a lot of consumer feedback to give us one of the most “Custom Shop”-esque Glocks ever.
Glock Gen6 G19, G17, and G45
The new Glock Gen6 G19, G17, and G45 are a logical starting point for the Gen6 series to launch from being that 9mm is the overwhelming favorite cartridge for shooters by a mile. With improved texturing on the grip, a repaired/improved optics mounting system that addressed a lot of issues, and a host of other improvements, the Glock Gen6 authentically looks like a newly inspired and designed pistol departing from old, predictable aesthetic cues.
- PALM SWELL: The palm swell contours the pistol to the natural curvature of the hand.
- RTF6 GRIP TEXTURE: The Gen6 grip texture (RTF6) combines two textures into one to create the perfect blend of performance and comfort.
- ENLARGED BEAVERTAIL: The enlarged beavertail encourages a higher grip while ensuring the slide can cycle freely.
- SLIDE STOP LEVER ENLARGED BORDER: The border surrounding the slide stop lever has been enlarged to prevent unintentional activation
- THUMB REST: The thumb rest is textured and extended for increased control during recoil.
- GLOCK SERRATIONS: The slide serrations are angled deeper into the slide to make the surface engagement more tactile for slide manipulations.
- TRIGGER GUARD: Undercut trigger guard allows for higher grip support and comfort.
- FLAT FACED TRIGGER: Each Gen6 pistol comes standard with a flat faced trigger for consistent finger placement and trigger pull. The trigger maintains the Safe Action® System for uncompromising safety and reliability.

The Glock Gen6 G17, G19, and G45 all have street MSRPs floating around the ~$690 ballpark. I wouldn’t expect to find any deals on this handguns for quite some time as these will be one of the most talked about handgun releases for 2026.
Final Thoughts
With a much better optic mounting system, improved stippling, thoughtful enhancements like a trigger guard undercut, flat-faced trigger, and deeper slide cuts, the Glock Gen6 series isn’t just new, it looks like a custom, modified handgun for competition, duty, or however you want to deploy it. For the company that uses the moniker of “Perfection,” this pistol looks damn good!
