[Shot 2026] AAC MPW SD and SDIC

Featured in:

One of the biggest announcements from Palmetto State Armory in 2026 was the resurrection of Advanced Armament Company (AAC) and their updated suppressor designs. With updated versions of iconic suppressors, AAC has also brought back its Multi Purpose Weapon (MPW).

The original MPW was a collaborative effort between AAC and Knights Armament Company and was chambered in 300 Blackout / 7.62×35.

The reintroduced MPW’s will be chambered in the original .300 Blackout, 5.56, 338ARC and 6mm ARC which seems to round out the product line and give more options to the end user.

The most exciting options in the new MPW line are the SD rifles. The MPW SDIC in 338ARC and the MPW SD in 300 blackout.

Both variants have 416 height upper receivers to allow suppressors to be tucked inside the rails. These rifles also have an sd specific rail with an internal heat shield, ambi controls and an enlarged fenced bolt release.

AAC has also added field serviceable rubber gaskets to limit gas leakage around the charging handle and forward assist. The SDIC is based on the ICAR pattern receiver and is compatible with the magpul ICAR magazines that were announced last year. The SD and SDIC will be offered as SBR’s and pistols at time of Launch.

Based on feed back AAC has stated they have prioritized development of both SD variants and promises a competitive price point.

The legend returns.

Before suppressor-ready was a checkbox and before these calibers went mainstream, AAC was already building rifles that worked when it mattered. The MPW platform helped define suppressor-native design from day one. Now it’s back; modernized, refined, and available across calibers and barrel lengths to fit how you actually run your rifles.
