New Locking Turret Maven RS4.2

Featured in:

Maven’s new RS4.2 is an upgraded and optimized variant of the RS.4.

This new optic is here specifically because precision rifle competitors (NRL/PRS) and long-range hunters need turrets that stay put during movement between positions, illumination that doesn’t quit mid-stage from a dead battery, and a zero stop you can hit without tools after dialing back from extreme distance shots, all while keeping weight down for barricade work and extended carries, in addition to doing all of that on a budget.

“Building on the proven performance of the original RS.4, the RS4.2 Riflescope represents the next iteration for shooters who live in the details. Designed for competitive shooting, long-range applications, and precision hunting, the RS4.2 raises the standard for control, confidence, and repeatability.

The RS4.2 features meaningful upgrades for serious shooters, including a 3-revolution locking elevation turret, capped windage, and an auto-off illuminated reticle to preserve battery life when it matters most. This first focal plane optic features a 5-30x magnification range, side parallax adjustment, 4-level red and green illumination, and your choice of MOA or MIL reticles. A toolless mechanical zero stop with positive stops ensures a fast, repeatable return to zero after every dial. Designed for precision rifle competition and extended-range shooting, the RS4.2 delivers broad magnification, reliable tracking, and confident dialing shot after shot.”

That level of repeatability matters when you’re transitioning from 300-yard close targets to 1,000-yard impacts in a single PRS stage, or holding wind on a coyote at the edge of your .308’s reach. Not to mention the extra abuse and weather exposure these scopes often get at a competition like that.

“Like all RS Series rifle scopes, the RS4.2 features crystal-clear ED glass, a silky-smooth focus mechanism, precision-milled adjustments, positive click detents, and durable anodizing built to withstand heavy use in demanding conditions.

The Maven RS Series represents our elite line of rifle scopes, engineered to meet specific performance demands while delivering world-class quality at a fraction of the cost of comparable optics. Modern sportsman-inspired design, premium materials, and state-of-the-art technology come together in an uncompromising optic built for today’s precision-driven shooter.”

Maven is known in the industry for being one of the few optics vendors that very few dealers and none that I know of personally inside of the United States, because of this, each optic sent out has the opportunity to be custom engraved for a small fee. Maven keeps the direct-to-consumer model intact for the launch of the RS4.2, too, offering their trademark Japanese-made glass at a fraction of big-box pricing.
